another absolutely great place to be:
Hot Springs Pool - Glenwood Springs, Colorado
We went swimming at night in February one year. I was worried I'd get cold when I got out of the pool, but no, the body absorbs so much heat, it actually steams with relief. The smaller, hotter pool has stairs along the sides for exposing more skin. Just as I got really overheated and thought I couldn't take any more hot steamy water covering my body, it started to snow. Little crystals of frozen sizzling as they hit my skin...wow!!!

The hot springs pool is a must-do if you are in the area. The worse the weather, the better the experience if you are into soaking. A few tips:
Bring a few quarters with you into the pool for the "bubblers"
Wear flip-flops - the floors of the locker rooms are kind of gross, and when it is real cold it is nice not to go barefoot between the locker rooms and the pool.
use the upstairs locker rooms, they are often less crowded
they are renovating the members area right now, but should be done by summer 2008. Pay a few extra bucks to use the member's gym. They include towels, have a great workout area, sauna, steam room and really clean locker rooms.
